Afternoon Scones

Great scones for a delightful afternoon snack.


2 cups all-purpose flour

3 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup sugar

6 tbsp unsalted butter at room temperature

2/3 cup whole milk

1 large egg

1 teaspoon of vanile extract


1 Mix the flour, baking powerder, salt & sugar

2 Cut the butter into small chunks and add that to the flour mix

3 With your hands, mix it in until the pieces of butter are blended in

4 In another bowl, mix egg, milk and vanilla and slowly add that to the flour/butter mix

5 Work the dough with your hands

6 Put flour on counter and lay out the dough and cut into scone shapes

7 Put in the oven for 13-15 minutes at 425F
